I am all for silliness and inanity and being stupid - stupid is interwoven in the fabric of my being - but there is a limit to that. There should be a limit to that.
There's a time for seriousness.
Have you guys heard of the SOPA bill? Honestly, I get a lot of my news off facebook and I haven't heard anything from other people about this. Granted it's a US bill and I'm Canadian, but this thing affects all us internet denizens. It worries me how much people are seemingly unconcerned about it.
We're talking censorship of the internet here; we're disgusted by China for doing it and yet here it is. It's supposed to stop online piracy, but it can't block I.P. addresses, so technically you could still access the site, but the domain name and the ability to google it will be blocked. The wording of this bill is vague enough that it could encompass sites like facebook and youtube.
Look, I can't explain it well and don't want to type too much - lifehacker here does a fair job at that.
But yeah. Just so this is out there. I heard about this through 9gag, of all things; haven't really encountered it anywhere else.
